DCI swings into Action over Railas claims

The Directorate of Criminal Investigation has begun looking into the fraudulent forms 34B that have been going around online. The head of DCI, Mohamed Amin, wrote to Marjan Hussein to inform him that the investigational body had received complaints about the purported false papers.

Amin claims that the complainants have insisted on several document manipulations. In the letter seen by our correspondent it read "The doctorate is investigating the validity and authenticity of the documents in question, in addition to whether offences relating to forgery and falsification of documents have been committed under sections 345-348 of the penal code. Further, the directorate will further investigations in relation to provisions of sections 22 and 23 of the computer misuse and cybercrime Act 2018."

somedays ago, the Chief opposition leader Raila Odinga has complained on the legitimacy of the presidential results.  Raila and his Opposition brigadier has asserted that they won the election with over 2million votes but it was corrupted by the IEBC to hand it over to Ruto. they claim that they have a proof of what transpired as leaked to them by one of the IEBC employee.

According to them President Ruto received 5,915973 votes whereas Azimio garnered 8170355 votes This translated to a win of about 57pc . However the criminal watchdog has called on the Azimio to record a statement with them if they have evidence of their claims and the correct action will be taken for those who will be found to have transacted such a activity .

  1. It is concerning to hear that fraudulent documents are being circulated online and that criminal investigations are being launched to determine their validity and authenticity. It is also concerning to hear that the opposition claims to have evidence of the presidential election results being corrupted. It is important that the truth is discovered and that any wrongdoing is appropriately punished. It is good that the Directorate of Criminal Investigation is looking into these claims and has called on the opposition to come forward with any evidence they may have. It is essential that justice is served and that any fraudulent activities are exposed and dealt with accordingly.
