Relief to the Maize farmers after thus

The local Kenya farmers have got some relief after president William Ruto halted the plan to import maize abroad to cater for the food shortage in the country .

This comes after a public outcry across the country over his decision to do the importation while not prioritizing the local farmers who had the same commodity. During the meeting of the cabinet at statehouse Mr Ruto announced the suspension of the importation plan upto February next year and first they prioritize the Kenyan farmers.

The news have been received with Hullulations across the Maize producing regions while also calling for the government to get the commodity at a better prices for them to able to cater for the cost of producing  the commodity. Due to the increase in the cost of production of the commodity .the government will be forced to rise the bar and protect the local wakulima  by purchasing the product at a higher price than the original ones .

During the same meeting the cabinet resolved to heed to  the call of the deputy president Rigathi gachagua and support the drought stricken Kenyans .The Cabinet secretaries agreed to forego their one month pay to help these fellow Kenyans who are having a hard time to put a meal on their table .
